Destiny Farmstay, Avalanche: Reaching Farmstay, Avalanche Lake, Room View – Part 1

Destiny Farmstay, located 25 kms from Ooty, is a place that offers a farmstay experience amidst a beautiful valley setting.

Destiny Farmstay is in Avalanche, a destination that is less explored for the beauty it offers. We can label Avalanche as an underrated destination.

When you book search for hotels in Ooty, most of the OTAs show Destiny Farm Stay under Ooty (though they mention its 25 kms from Ooty) – so, this farmstay is NOT in Ooty.

The drive to Avalanche itself is very scenic. At many places you can stop your vehicle to enjoy the view.

Destiny farmstay is located in a remote place, hence there are too many turns and narrow roads to reach the destination. It is recommended that you call Destiny every 15 minutes (once you start from Ooty) to ensure you are on right direction. We stayed here in 2024 and also in 2012. Compared to 2012, now there are just a few signboards added (but, they are tiny again).

The periodical call to Destiny is also to ensure that they arrange a pickup vehicle at the parking lot. All vehicles have to be parked in a dedicated parking area, from here everyone will be taken in an altered tempo traveller with custom seats. Fun begins here.

The tempo traveller ride will be bumpy because there are no roads. People travelling with kids have to be careful to hold them tight from not falling down.

A team would be waiting at the reception to welcome guests with a drink.

There are totally 35+ rooms in Destiny spread across five room types – Standard Rooms, Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Luxury Rooms and Honeymoon Suite.

Room names are personalised.

All rooms offer good view, only the room dimensions and facilities inside the room vary by room type.

Below pictures are from the Luxury room area. Luxury rooms have a dedicated large balcony – stunning view can be experienced from here. It is recommended to just sit in one of these iron chairs at night and enjoy the heavenly environment around.

Due to the farmstay’s remote location, one will only hear nature’s sound throughout the stay.
