Some cities are best explored by walking slowly. Singapore is certainly among this list. The city offers a fantastic skyline, many architecturally inspiring buildings, beautiful sea view, among others. These are best explored by walking around the city. One cannot walk the entire city, but at least the downtown and it’s surrounding areas can be explored walking.
We walked about 10 kms exploring various areas of Singapore. This article is a photo-log of our walking trip.
Before we explore the city, just a quick showcase of the Singapore Airport.
We started our walk from VivoCity Mall in Harbourfront area. There is a restaurant in this mall by the name of “Marche” that simply blew our mind for various reasons. Marche restaurant offers a live cooking counter for all of it’s food – starting from salads to dessert. The quality of food is top class and the presentation/arrangement of food materials all around the restaurant inspires to eat (by making you forget the calorie).
For dinner, most of the time there will be a queue to get into Marche. We’ve been here five times so far (in multiple trips to Singapore).
Try their potato roastie topped with curd (or any other topping they offer) – you will not be disappointed. The mushroom soup here is lip-smacking.
Harbourfront is a great place to spend time gazing at the sea.

An article about Singapore is incomplete without mentioning its metro. Singapore’s metro deserves a standing ovation. They’re clean, well maintained and marked with clear signboards all around for easy navigation.
The metro department is not only infrastructure savvy, but also tech savvy. In the recent past, there was a peculiar case of a Circle Line train repeatedly causing trouble that led to multiple disruptions in certain areas.
